Hublot and Ferrari join forces to create a range of timepieces. The Big Bang Ferrari

Taking inspiration from the innovative volumes and iconic design of the most recent Ferrari models, Ferrari and Hublot have redesigned the contours of the Big Bang Unico model.

This new design combines Hublot’s cutting-edge ideas and Ferrari’s design language. The perfect silhouette and proportions highlight the new architecture of the Big Bang Ferrari, featuring highly functional yet stylish details.

The minute counter and date window at 3 o’clock are designed like a car tachometer and style of the date is inspired by a Ferrari speed dial. The Prancing Horse logo features discreetly at 6 o’clock. At 9 o’clock, the seconds counter is in the shape of an air extractor. The hour and minute hands, which have been completely redesigned, offer improved readability. Instead of being positioned horizontally, the numerals are now positioned in line with the indices, which seem to float above the dial, giving the whole piece a 3D look.

Forming a subtle yet perfect balance between innovative volumes and slender, functional forms, the contours of the bezel have been redesigned with countersunk notches for the 6 screws; a more ergonomic form that protects the screws and looks as if taken directly from an integrated control unit.

On the crown side, the case middle features a red line detail, recalling the iconic groove to the rear of the LaFerrari model. The elongated push-buttons are fixed to a rotating staff like the pedals on a car. Marked with the Hublot logo, the crown has a much more integrated and ergonomic crown guard. It evokes the characteristic form of the TPE (Turbo Performance Engineer) set in the centre of the Ferrari dashboard. The other profile is inspired by the styling of Ferrari cars. The name “Ferrari” is emblazoned in bright red across the watch’s now iconic sandwich-like case construction.

The Big Bang Ferrari is equipped with a Unico movement – the Hublot Manufacture movement that integrates a flyback chronograph with column wheel positioned on the dial side. The oscillating weight echoes the iconic star spoke design of the Ferrari wheel rims, while the main plate, bridges and oscillating weight are all treated with black PVD and can be seen through the dial and sapphire case-back.

Measuring 45mm in diameter and it is limited edition available in Titanium(1,000 pieces), King Gold (500 pieces) and uni-directional carbon (500 pieces), the Big Bang Ferrari has a strap made from black alcantara on black rubber, with red over-stitching in the style of Ferrari upholstery or in black Schedoni leather in reference to the iconic design of Ferrari seats.

Unleashing the Power of the Techframe

As part of Ferrari’s 70th anniversary celebrations, the Italian marque and its partner Hublot have unveiled a new original collection. Conceived with the same approach used for designing a car at the Ferrari Design Centre – and integrating Hublot’s watchmaking expertise, the Techframe Ferrari 70 years Tourbillon Chronograph opens a new chapter in the partnership that unites Hublot and Ferrari. Available in three versions — King Gold, PEEK (Polyether Ether Ketone) Carbon and Titanium — each are produced in 70 limited editions. Designed by Ferrari, crafted by Hublot, this is the principe that has prevailed for the design and perfecting of the new Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph. This new line in Hublot’s collection is intended to offer a watch that is deeply rooted in Ferrari’s DNA — combining strength, performance and agility — while being produced and perfected by the Hublot manufacture. A perfect fusion of the automotive and watchmaking worlds.

Created and designed by Ferrari, under the leadership of Head of Design Flavio Manzoni the new Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph is like one of the super cars produced in Maranello. The starting point for the designers was the Hublot movement – the “engine” of the watch – around which they designed a high performance chassis.

The Hublot manufacture took this design by Ferrari and applied its expertise in engineering, materials and watchmaking, to make these aesthetic and technical concepts feasible. The result is a chassis case with a modular construction of three components – skeleton middle, container, and back cover – that is true to the styling imagined by Ferrari.

Offered in PEEK Carbon that is a multilayer hypo-allergenic material made from particularly long carbon fibers which is extremely durable and reliable. Two lateral push-buttons made in the P485 Ferrari red make it easy to change the strap while offering maximum security.

The back cover of the case is engraved in black with “Limited Edition, No. XX/70” and the sapphire back is adorned with “Ferrari 70 Years”.

The Techframe Ferrari 70 Years Tourbillon Chronograph is the epitome of fine watchmaking. What drives it is the HUB6311 calibre with manual winding – 253 components – offers 5 days of power reserve.

Treated with ruthenium anthracite, this fine tuned “engine” also stands out by its imposing tourbillon that is visible on the dial. Thanks to an ingenious construction principle, this innovative mechanicsm offers both the aesthetics of a flying tourbillon and the operational stability of a tourbillon with two pivot points.

The Ferrari logo is visible at the 9 o’clock position whilst the Hublot logo is at 5 o’clock. The sapphire dial reveals the cutting edge mechanics that it shelters, and an external raised section holds the timer. A matt black block designed by Ferrari, affixed to the sapphire holds a race-inspired twin half-second counter at 3 o’clock, the minutes counter at 11 o’clock and the column wheel at 1 o’clock – the brain controlling this sleek chronograph with tangential coupling.

The highly technical interchangeable black rubber strap is fitted with a folding clasp with a cover in PVD titanium with a plate decorated with King Gold, PEEK carbon or titanium with the Hublot logo.

Laferrari Aperta

The LaFerrari Aperta (Ref. 905.JN.0001.RX) has a manual winding suspended vertical tourbillon 11 series. The hour, minute and second hands are transparent with power reserve display rolls.

The polished smoked sapphire crystal case holds the tourbillon and the straps are made of smooth rubber in black to match the colour of the watch.
