Since 1932, Swiss watchmaker Hamilton has been at the heart of cinema, with their watches appearing in over 500 major movies. With their passion for and dedication to the movies, Hamilton was proud to honor the dedicated individuals behind the scenes at the 10th Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards. The Awards ceremony took place on November 4, at The Exchange LA.
Together with Los Angeles Confidential magazine, the premiere luxury lifestyle publication, Hamilton again recognized the invaluable work of talented individuals operating behind the scenes. Without their hard work and dedication, making a movie would not be possible.
From the first appearance of a Hamilton watch in Shanghai Express in 1932, Hamilton has worked closely with Hollywood. Their involvement in the creative process helps them create or provide watches that complete characters and advance the plot of a movie. They understand how much work goes on behind the camera. Some of the most recent appearances of their watches include Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan, Interstellar, The Martian and the Men in Black trilogy.
The Behind the Camera Awards first took place in 2006 and have since become a standard fixture on the Hollywood calendar, attracting some of the biggest names in the industry from both sides of the camera – and this special 10th edition was no exception.
The Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards were hosted this year by award-winning actor and comedian Tony Hale. Tony is best known for playing Gary Walsh in Veep, a role for which he won the 2013 and 2015 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.
Winners are selected from movies released during the year or qualified and presented at the most recent prestigious movie festivals of Cannes, Toronto and Venice as well as the Festival of the American Film Institute.
