TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 Chronograph
TAG Heuer has revisited its best-selling model this year to produce a stylish, vintage-inspired chronograph version that harks back to the brand's rich automotive heritage.
Since it was launched in 1963, this model has become synonymous with motor sport timekeeping. Several legendary drivers have chosen to wear a Heuer Carrera chronograph during their career.
TAG Heuer has now unveiled two new stylish, vintage-inspired timepieces featuring the TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 16 chronograph with a 41mm diameter: a black version with a black leather strap and a blue version with a steel bracelet. With touches of red, the colours, contrasts and position of the counters are all clear references to motor sport.
Two sporty models with a vintage signature produced by the three white counters, which stand out starkly against a dial featuring a white flange with a 60-second scale. The seconds counter is at 9 o'clock, the minute counter at 12 o'clock and the hour counter at 6 o'clock. The bezel is made from ceramic, and features a tachometer scale – a crucial component on an automotive chronograph. The black version is adorned with a magnificent perforated black leather strap with red stitching. The blue version features a steel bracelet for maximum comfort. These two seriously sporty models are beautiful additions to the TAG Heuer Carrera collection.
TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph GMT
An essential tool for today's younger generations, hungry for travel and adventure.
A fantastic occasion for the Swiss watch brand to unveil a new chronograph version equipped with a GMT function. This new model adopts the design codes and DNA of the Heuer Carrera, featuring the original "3-6-9" counter layout from 1963. The chronograph minutes and hours are at 3 and 9 o'clock, with the permanent small second at 6 o'clock and the date window at 4:30, completed by the GMT function. It is the first time that TAG Heuer has added this complication to its prestigious manufacture movement.
The second time zone, an ultra-practical feature that can be adjusted with the crown, is read using the lacquered red hand and the black and blue ceramic bezel, which has a 24-hour GMT scale. To ensure optimum legibility, the GMT hand has been ingeniously mounted in a secondary position — between the hour and minute hands — enabling it to pass over the indexes and skim the GMT scale. The Heuer 02 manufacture movement, visible through the skeleton dial, is housed inside a solid 45 mm steel case, water-resistant to 100 metres. As daring as it is refined, this model boldly demonstrates the height of the Swiss watch brand's avant-garde technology.
TAG Heuer Carrera "Tête de Vipère" Chronograph Tourbillon Chronometer
A brand new limited edition of 155 pieces released to celebrate 55 years since the Heuer Carrera was created.
The "Tête de Vipère" stamp was applied to a chronometer for the first time by the Besançon Observatory in 1897. This high-quality metrological guarantee is a mark of the unrivalled precision and excellence of a watch. Abandoned in the 1970s, then relaunched in 2006, the "Tête de Vipère" stamp has since been awarded to just 500 pieces. To obtain this certificate of excellence, each fully assembled watch undergoes a protocol involving 16 days of testing, in five different positions at three different temperatures.
The Besançon Observatory, operating on behalf of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures, is the only independent, public organisation able to inspect chronometers. More than simply proof of quality and accuracy, this stamp is confirmation of technical expertise which borders on perfection. The stamp actually certifies the watch as a whole, not just the movement.
TAG Heuer is therefore today unveiling a new, highly modern version of its TAG Heuer Carrera Chronograph Tourbillon Chronometer with a contemporary design and featuring two of traditional watchmaking's most famous complications: a tourbillon and a chronograph. The movement is housed in a magnificent midnight blue ceramic case, complemented by a ceramic bezel and lugs. Elegant touches of blue can also been seen on the weight and movement barrel. With its polished, brushed and bead-blasted finishes, the result is a sophisticated, modern piece, reflecting the highest quality Swiss watchmaking technology. The "Tête de Vipère" stamp has been applied to the bridge, visible through the sapphire crystal of the case back.
The piece is complemented by a beautiful black alligator strap, sewn onto rubber with blue stitching, endowing it with TAG Heuer's signature refined yet sporty look.
Advanced technology, high quality, high performance and exceptional manufacture expertise, combined with perfect mastery of industrial processes and production costs, make the TAG Heuer Carrera "Tête de Vipère" Chronograph Tourbillon Chronometer a perfect addition to the brand's range, enriching the design codes and DNA of TAG Heuer, Avant-Garde since 1860.
